Agroalimentaria 2011 will be held in the Dominican Fiesta Hotel, Santo Domingo, April 7-9. This will be the 3rd annual fair, focused on positioning the agricultural and agro industrial Dominican products in the context of globalization, increasing its shares in international markets.
The international exhibition is organized by the Dominican Agribusiness Board (JAD) and the Center for Export and Investment of the Dominican Republic (CEI-RD) and other related institutions of the DR Agribusiness sector. The environment will be one for business meetings and interviews, so attendeess can conduct trade operations and establish business contacts.
It is expected that this year, 300 local companies will participate, 400 international buyers, and more than 2.000 visitors. Exhibitors will be divided by themes. There will be an exclusive pavilion for the exhibition of organic products and fair trade, the popular Food Festival and Masterly Conferences, to name just two.
FreshPlaza.com wrote that past editions held in 2007 and 2009 showed that the Dominican Republic food industry “has a great capacity to offer a large quantity, variety and quality of products, supplying the most demanding foreign markets with tropical fruits, vegetables grown in a controlled environmental, organics, as well as the famous cigars, rums, beers and other Dominican products that have won fame and prestige abroad.”
